snàth handspun yarns and handknits

unique yarns and handknits, made with traditional skills

Using snàth handspun yarns

Snàth handspun yarns may be handknitted in the same way as mill-spun yarns.  The knitted items produced will have a more attractive texture and ‘lively’ feel, adding to the interest and quality of the completed garment or accessory.  Skeins are individually weighed in grams, show the detailed fibre content as percentages, and are labelled as knitting yarn weight;  2ply laceweight, 4ply sock yarn, Double Knitting or Aran/worsted weight yarns.
Handknitted garments and accessories for sale have been designed and created using my handspun yarns or other craftmade hand-dyed yarns from UK-based  independent dyers and producers.
