snàth handspun yarns and handknits

unique yarns and handknits, made with traditional skills

snàth handspun and handknits

Welcome to snàth handspun and handknits.

The word ‘snàth in the Isle of Islay dialect of Scottish Gaelic means thread or yarn, so is appropriate both for my products and for the concept of continuation of traditional skills.

I handspin woollen and luxury mixed-fibre yarns using locally produced wool fleeces, then create handknit garments and accessories using my handspun yarns or other crafts-made and dyed yarns.
